Dear animal'lover, Faith of street dogs from my country,from Romania is a long line of tragedies.Our authorities are runing  an aggressive campaign  to exterminate homeless dogs from here.All begin almost a year before,in april 2001,when the Mayor of Bucharest declared an unfair "war" to all dumped or born in the street dogs in the city.Others mayors took Baesecu'example and slaughtering  dogs has happen in others majors towns from Romania. Dogs have  been hanged,beatten until their death,skined alive,poissoned -injected with poisson directly in hearts. THE FIRST AND THE MOST URGENT PROGRAM: ROLDA-a small group of animal's lovers established in Galatzi(a big town from Romania) wants since more than  a year, to collect funds to "build" a natural shelter for remained alive stray dogs from my town. This solution -the natural shelter-is THE BEST solution for the moment,(with very good results in Turkey,country with similar problems in the past) and the CHEAPEST(we tried very hard all this past year to collect funds for building a decent shelter for these creatures,without any result).We have another reason to make quickly this plan- because of the new law,that Romanian Government is pushing through our Parliament to be voted. This law will make killing dogs legal all over Romania. So,we must move fast,before others slaughters begin.(This time,legal slaughters.) This natural shelter will be the sanctuary for: 1.Very sick street dogs,who need a long treatment. 2.Hosting dogs after spray/neuter surgery for eliminating the infection'risk.(the very bad conditions in which street dogs from here are living make impossible neuter and release immediatly because ,especially,of the dirt on the street that cause big infections). 3.Vaccinating them against rabies and other illnesses 4.Any dog that  is immediatly   in need of anykind of help We think to buy a land ,outside town,1500-2000 square m.We will fence around carefully,next we put small dogshouses on it(doghouses for recover),but dogs can also live under the sky.(The weather in our country it seems to be very warm for this period and it will remain very warm ,so it will be no problem for dogs to stay outside.) We want to build,as well on this land, a very small veterinary office,where dogs in need will be treated . In time,it will be the base for buying more land,to buy others small dog'houses,in time-it will become a real"NATURAL SHELTER" for our dogs at international standards. More,this shelter will be a sanctuary for prevention of any possible abuse against  street dogs from my town. After we will have this land and shelter will be decent to be open,we will begin the "Neuter and Release "Program(using a mobile van-"mobile hospital"), as is done with feral cats in Britain and the parts of the U.S. with the most rapidly declining stray animal populations, and is the official but often disregarded national policy for reducing street dog numbers in India. We hope or maybe not dare  to hope from all our hearts to collect these money,to begin as soon as  posible our action. Any foundraising program,of anytype-it will be a perfect opportunity to collect as many money as we can to start doing and stop only dreaming. The SECOND Program:"Neuter and Release "Program It will have as base the shelter,where street  dogs may stay few days after surgery,for recovering. This program it will be done with the help of a team of veterinary from USA,that offered their help when the shelter will be ready ,with a van -mobile hospital,again received when the shelter will be ready. Every single dog that pass through this program will be  human marked and will be a succes of our work,a reward of each animal'lover attention regarding these poorsouls.
